India created a National Record by organizing a Half-Marathon at an altitude of 10050 ft



India set a world record at Lahaul and Spiti of Himachal Pradesh on 10th August 2013. It was a twenty-one (21) kilometer long Half Marathon at such a high altitude of 10050 feet at Kaylong


There were 261 sportsmen from various states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab. Army personals’ have also participated in the Half Marathon. The motto of the Half Marathon was to provide the live situation to the young Sportsmen to encourage the people of Himachal Pradesh’s remote area individuals to participate in the National level sports. Additionally, India setup the National Record to organize the first-ever highest altitude Marathon race.


This was 21 kilometer long Half Marathon that has been won by Baljinder Singh from Punjab state of India. In the women’s category, Reeta Kumari won the first position.
