Dilip Trivedi, a 1978 batch IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh
cadre 16-Aug-2013 named the CRPF chief.
Mr. Trivedi is
currently serving as Special Director-General of the Border Security Force. He
was conducting the inquiry into BSF's firing at Ramban in Jammu & Kashmir
where four people were killed last month.
The CRPF, is a 3,00,000- strong, is the nodal agency of the country's anti-Maoist operations.
Besides, the precarious security scenario in J&K, the CRPF would also have to focus on this sector where it is engaged in counter-insurgency operations, securing VIPs and complementing the state police in maintaining law and order.
