P. V. Sindhu bags bronze in 2013 BWF World Championships



P.V.Sindhu of India bagged Bronze medal women’s singles category at the BWF World Championships 2013. She was defeated by  Ratchanok Inthanon of Thailand in the semifinals in Guangzhou, China on 10 August 2013.



Sindhu became the first ever Indian woman to win a medal in singles at the World Championships (India's first singles medal since Prakash Padukone won bronze in 1983). 


The 2013 BWF World Championships are held on 5–11 August 2013 at the Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou, China.

Gold -- Ratchanok Inthanon of  Thailand

Silver -- Li Xuerui of  China

Bronze -- Bae Youn-joo  of  South Korea and P.V.Sindhu of India



Men’s Singles


Gold -- Lin Dan of  China

Silver -- Lee Chong Wei of  Malasia

Bronze -- Nguyễn Tiến Minh  of  Vietnam and Du Pengyu of China
